February has quickly become my favorite time to share our favorite wedding and elopement photos from the previous wedding season. Years ago, I'd rush and have the post done as close to New Year's Eve as possible, but now I like to sit and reflect on the past season a bit first. And who doesn't want to look at wedding photos in February when they're feeling the love?
After experiencing a very busy 2021 with COVID-19 postponements, we decided to limit our bookings for 2022. First, we took some time for the 4th of July and Joel's birthday (July 5th) to relax in Lubec, one of our favorite Maine getaways. And while we're usually swamped in October, we took some time off to enjoy my birthday and spooky season.
Most importantly, we took time off to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary in August. Although we had weddings bookending our anniversary, we blocked off Labor Day weekend to head to Prince Edward Island (my favorite place since I was a little kid) to renew our wedding vows. It was incredible!
Unfortunately, COVID finally got us in June. Luckily for us, it was during a little stretch between bookings, and we didn't have to miss any of our couples' weddings. However, we did have to miss Joel's brother's wedding, which we were super bummed about. A few of our couples also got hit by COVID-19, resulting in two cancelations and another postponement. Deciding not to let that get us down, we filled those weekends with hiking and exploring with our dog, Roswell.
Last year was fantastic! We had an incredible lineup of adventurous, kind, excited, and goofy clients that made our hearts happy. Looking back, our season turned out perfectly.
So, where did we go? Last season saw us spending a lot of time in Bar Harbor. It felt good to be back there so often! Here are some Acadia elopements and micro weddings we photographed:

We also photographed the following larger weddings in Bar Harbor:

- Ashleigh and Dillon's wedding at Bar Harbor Inn
- Mike and Adrianna's wedding at Bar Harbor Club and
- Steve and Melissa's wedding, also at BHC
We returned to some of our favorite venues last year, including:
- Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor for Tina and Tom's wedding
- Oxbow Brewing in Portland for Kara and Casey's wedding, as well as Tom and Lia's wedding and
- Inn by the Sea for Alessandra and Sam's wedding
Finally, we got to visit a couple of new spots, including the Wentworth by the Sea in New Hampshire for Chris and Emily's wedding celebration (the one non-Maine wedding in this post) and Swan's Island for Casey and Jessica's wedding, where I stepped in as an associate photographer for another photographer.
We're so grateful for all of these people, and now that we're feeling well-rested, we're ready to dive into 2023!
