ABOUT US
MAINE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS SINCE 2010
We started with a box of Milk Duds.
Long before we were photographing weddings along the Maine coast, I (Hailey) was working the concession stand at a movie theater during college when Joel walked up and asked for Milk Duds, then followed it up by asking me out for coffee. We’ve been best friends and, eventually, spouses ever since.
That was over fifteen years ago. In that time, we’ve built something we’re genuinely proud of: a documentary wedding photography practice rooted in the belief that the most meaningful images aren’t the ones you posed for. They’re the ones that happened while you forgot we were there.
What we do, and why it matters.
We’re documentary photographers. That means we’re not directing your day. We’re living alongside it, quietly and attentively, so that when you look back at your gallery, it actually feels like you. Your nervous laugh. The way your dad held it together until he didn’t. The moment your best friend grabbed your hand without saying a word. This approach takes experience, patience, and a genuine feel for human connection. Knowing where to be, when to disappear, and how to stay out of the way while still making sure nothing is missed. It’s a craft we’ve been refining since 2010, across hundreds of weddings throughout Maine and New England.
Hailey’s work has been recognized by the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), whose competitions are judged by working newspaper photojournalists and picture editors. It’s one of the most rigorous standards in the industry, and an honor we don’t take lightly.
Why Maine.
We’re not photographers who travel to Maine. Maine is home, and it shows in our work. We know how sunset hits Casco Bay from Peaks Island, and how the harbor at Stonington looks just before a storm rolls in. We’ve photographed in fog so thick it turned the treeline to watercolor, in rain that made everything smell like pine and salt, and in the particular hush of a Maine winter blizzard when the whole world goes quiet and still. We know the cliffs, the trails, the long golden evenings of July and the moody, dramatic skies of October. And we know how to photograph all of it in a way that puts you at the center, not the scenery.

“I was blown away by the beauty of their photos, but more so by the fact that they captured the heart and soul of the event.”
-Kary & Mike
More About Hailey
she/her
I came to photography from a background in English and creative writing, so storytelling has always been the thread. The medium just changed.
Outside of work, you’ll find me reading in my hammock, hiking, or driving to the coast with good coffee. I have strong opinions about dark chocolate and a deep, unironic love for One Tree Hill.

More About Joel
He/Him
A journalist at heart, I found that wedding photography is one of the best storytelling gigs around.
I’m a passionate advocate for Maine craft beer, a homebrewer, and a person who will cry every single time at Hachi: A Dog’s Tale. I love dogs, basketball, and wrestling.
