I thought engagement photos in Lubec, Maine (the easternmost point in the U.S.) would be a hard sell when Erin asked for location suggestions. However, after exploring the area more with Joel during quarantine, it quickly became a favorite spot in Maine. I had visited Quoddy Head State Park in high school because my brother attended college in nearby Machias, but I'd never gotten the chance to see the adorable downtown. So Joel and I explored last fall and got the opportunity to hike the Bold Coast trail and Boot Head Preserve, as well as try out Lubec Brewing and some good restaurants that hadn't closed up for the season yet.
I couldn't believe that Erin and Patrick were up for the long drive to a town almost completely closed for the winter and one they'd never been to. Luckily for us, the brewery was open, so we could stop in long enough for them to warm up by the fire pit with a beer (it was cold and windy outside) before we headed over to Quoddy Head for sunset. And the best part of all? They brought their adorable dog, a Great Pyrenees named Howie, along for the ride. He's quite the gentle giant, and it was love at first sight for us.
I cannot wait to photograph Erin and Patrick's wedding this fall at Stage Neck Inn, but for now, these photos will have to get me by. So, here are our favorites from Erin and Patrick's engagement photos in Lubec, Maine!
