Adriana & Adham’s Atlantic Oceanside Bar Harbor Wedding

Bar Harbor, Acadia, and MDI Weddings and Elopements

Planning a wedding from afar is challenging enough, but Adriana and Adham had the added challenge of doing it from across the border in Montreal. Adriana has been visiting Bar Harbor since childhood, so it was the perfect destination for their wedding.

These two included a lot of personal touches –big and small– to create a celebration that truly reflected their personalities. Adriana is a huge Swiftie, so their ceremony musicians played "Love Story" as Adham walked down the aisle and "Wildest Dreams" as Adriana entered with her father. At the reception, a neon pink sign over their head table read "Forever & Always," another nod to Taylor Swift.

During cocktail hour, the two of them greeted guests and kicked things off by pouring a champagne tower, something we have surprisingly never photographed in our thirteen years of weddings! Since their pup, Koda, was back home in Montreal, they included him in the day with a shot named in his honor that was passed around.

Adham wanted to include part of his Lebanese culture, so a Zaffeh led guests from cocktail hour on the front lawn down the road to the reception. If you've never witnessed a Zaffeh, it's kind of a party to get everyone excited for the bigger party. Other people staying at the hotel came outside, and a few cars pulled over on the main road to watch. The group played music and led Adham and the guests in dancing while Adriana slipped away to change into her reception dress. After some additional portraits of the two, the Zaffeh led Adham and Adriana onto the dance floor, where guests circled around them to celebrate. With the rhythmic pounding of drums and dozens of guests twirling around with the Zaffeh dancers, it was an unforgettable experience to photograph. Also, it was yet another first in our thirteen years!

Everything about Adham and Adriana's Atlantic Oceanside Bar Harbor wedding was so beautiful. We also met up with them two days after their wedding for some portraits in Acadia National Park, so stay tuned for that blog post soon.
