Abby & Connor’s Foggy Rockport Maine Wedding

Abby and Connor planned their foggy Rockport, Maine wedding in three months so they could share the same wedding date as her parents and grandparents. The ceremony location was a no-brainer. It would be the house that Abby's 100-year-old grandfather had recently sold (he lives in the guest house now, and the new owners were totally game for hosting), where Abby had spent a lot of Maine summers growing up.

As Joel and I drove through midcoast Maine, the rain started coming down. It was a cold rain. I wondered what the plan would be, and when we arrived, it was decided. The guests would stand on the covered deck, which was conveniently big enough for such a large group, while Abby and Connor would stand in the same spot in the garden where her parents had exchanged vows. Bonus? They'd do it barefoot.

The rain lightened as Abby walked down the aisle, but it was steady throughout the entire ceremony. Then, it miraculously stopped right after their first kiss. It was magic. The rest of the day was foggy, but no rain was in sight.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when Abby and Connor each had their parent dances outside by the first tee at Megunticook Golf Club. I'm a sucker for outdoor dancing, and the fog really added to the atmosphere.

After the dances and some tequila tasting, guests entered the dining hall, where they were delighted to find beautiful mugs adorned with their names to mark their seats, lovingly made by Abby's mom. Dinner was served family style, Abby's grandfather gave a toast to welcome guests to the rest of the evening, and then Wavelength took over, keeping the dance floor completely packed until it was time for us to head home.

This entire day was so beautiful, and I can't believe it was pulled together in such a short amount of time. A special shoutout to Abby's mom and everyone who helped them pull it together.

Here are some favorites!

P.S. Please stick around until the end for an important note. Thanks!

Abby and Connor live and work on Maui and were on their honeymoon when the fires happened. Their home was spared, and they were able to lend it to friends in need, but I asked if they'd be comfortable sharing the best places to go for people willing to donate. Abby shared a link to a Google Doc full of the GoFundMe links for hundreds of families who lost everything. If you're interested in donating and want to ensure your funds go directly to the families needing it, click HERE. Thank you!
