A winter wedding in Millinocket during the first massive snowstorm of the year wasn’t the original plan for Tiffany and Mark. Still, when you get hit with the double whammy of a global pandemic and a winter storm, you get pretty crafty. They had initially planned to head someplace warm with their loved ones. However, Covid-19 didn’t seem to be going anywhere, they chose to have a small affair at their home over New Year’s weekend.
As their wedding weekend crept closer, we kept a close eye on the weather. It’d been a pretty mild winter so far, so we weren’t expecting to have the first big storm of the season that day. Joel and I decided to make a weekend of it and get an Airbnb, and I have to say—we had a freaking blast! The snow added a bit of comedy and a lot of beauty to the day.
After the ceremony at their home, we all shoveled out, loaded into our cars, and made the extra long journey on roughly plowed back roads to the New England Outdoor Center for some portraits and their wedding dinner. We had the entire place to ourselves, and while it was way too snowy to get any photos showing the fantastic view, I’m happy to say we’ll get a second chance when we do their maternity photos there this month.
We’re so grateful to Tiffany and Mark and their loved ones for quarantining and getting tested before the day to keep us safe and for making us feel like part of the family. Also, a huge thanks for giving us a fun snowed-in weekend in Millinocket!
Here are some favorites from the day!
