Joel and I headed to Lubec, Maine, for Memorial Day weekend, and since I've been terrible about taking personal photos with my cameras instead of my cell phone, I brought one along. Our 2021 wedding season has been hectic after all of the postponements from last year, so we knew this would be our only real getaway for a while. So naturally, it was freezing and raining on and off the entire trip, but we made the most of it.
We started our trip in Eastport with a hike, lunch, and a beer at the brand new brewery in town, Horn Run Brewing. The day ended with pizza from Morano's (yum!) on our balcony at the inn. Not a bad start!
On day two, we headed to Cobscook Bay State Park for another hike, stopped in at one of our favorite spots for a post-hike beer, Lubec Brewing, and grabbed dinner from one of our go-to dinner spots in the area, Water Street Tavern.
Day three started rainy and incredibly foggy, so we thought we'd have to skip our third hike of the trip. However, the rain stopped, the fog cleared, and we were able to head to my favorite hike in Lubec — Boot Head Preserve.
We usually hit up Quoddy Head State Park to see the best lighthouse in Maine at some point during our trips there, but since we had just been there for engagement photos in January, we decided to skip it this time to fit in some new adventures. We'll be back for sure next time we're in town!
I hadn't looked through the photos from the trip that much until today, but since it's our ninth wedding anniversary, I thought it would be fun to go through them and share some here.
So here are some photos from our trip to Lubec, Maine!
