The temperature for Erin and Pat’s Stage Neck Inn wedding in September was an improvement over the bitter cold temperatures we had for their engagement photos in January. After spending time with them at Quoddy Head State Park in Lubec (the easternmost point in the state and the US), it was nice to document them in a completely different part of the state. Stage Neck Inn stands on a peninsula in York Harbor, Maine. The view is mostly hidden, but after exploring a bit more, I was thrilled to see the cliffs on the edge of the property. There’s also a river along the side of the property, giving us a variety of backdrops for portraits.
We knew that Erin and Pat’s Great Pyrenees, Howie, would arrive at some point donning a tuxedo, so we eagerly kept an eye out as they got ready. We met Howie in Lubec, and he is truly the epitome of a gentle giant. He arrived right as Erin put on her wedding dress and waited patiently to say hi, his nose against the screen door.
After a first look and some portraits with Howie, the ceremony began with bagpipes—a special request from Pat. Howie looked on as his parents exchanged rings, and I was instantly jealous that we didn’t get either of our dogs until after we got married. Dogs do add some extra magic to your wedding day!
So, here are my favorites from Erin and Pat’s wedding day. Keep an eye out for both of Erin’s fantastic dresses!
