After postponing a year and finding a new venue, the day finally arrived for Rachael and Carson’s Arlington, Vermont wedding at West Mountain Inn. We love Vermont so much, and it’s always refreshing to photograph in the lush greenery there, especially when there are mountains to be seen in the distance.
I started the day with Rachael, and since Carson wanted to get ready privately, Joel documented the grounds and spent some time with Rachael’s dad.
After reading a note from Carson alone, Rachael’s mom joined her to help her into her wedding dress. Then, it was time for our first look of the day with Rachael’s bridesmaids. There was a nervous excitement in the air as we waited for Rachael’s father to arrive for the second first look of the day. Was the rain that kept threatening to fall going to start as soon as she stepped outside? While it did sprinkle a bit (we kept the emergency umbrellas handy), it quickly fizzled out, and the sun came out in full force by the ceremony.
The first look with Carson was full of laughs (and a few tears), then it was time to meet up with their adorable bulldog, Mabel, for some photos with her in her flower girl outfit. She even served as inspiration for one of their signature cocktails!
Honestly, the day felt like it flew by in the blink of an eye, which was a little sad after spending so much time chatting with Rachael leading up to the day.
Here are some of our favorites from the day!
