Paula and Avery decided to exchange rings and vows privately during their small elopement in Acadia National Park. It was a gorgeous fall morning, and I'm so happy they allowed me to participate in it. We started our session with portraits at Jordan Pond, where the fall colors were fully displayed. They told me they'd let me know when they found the right spot to exchange their vows, so we just shot away until they'd found it. When they did, I stepped far enough away that I couldn't hear the personal vows they had written for each other but close enough that I could still grab a few photos of the exchange. They wanted to keep their vows just between the two of them, which was so sweet and incredibly romantic.
After, we continued our portraits with one of the iconic carriage bridges and at a few other spots throughout the park. I could see a difference in both of them as we walked along. There was an extra lightness between the two of them. They were extremely happy, and it was lovely to be the only person around to witness it.
Here are my favorites from the day!
