Watertown Massachusetts Micro Wedding | Morganne & Mike

Morganne and Mike's micro wedding in Watertown, Massachusetts, differed from what they had initially planned when we met up with them last year. Still, like every couple planning a 2020 wedding, they had to make the difficult decision to either postpone the whole thing or scale back significantly. Initially, they planned to do a bit of both—hold a small ceremony and dinner with immediate family this year, then have a more significant celebration next year. The plan changed a bit, which you'll hear more about below.

Morganne, Mike, and their families worked hard to transform their apartment's backyard into an elegant ceremony location with a beautiful tablescape for dinner, which a private chef prepared. In addition, they planted flowers, built an arbor, and hung twinkle lights, creating a breathtaking space. Honestly, it was one of my favorite wedding locations I've photographed.

To start the day, we met up with Morganne and Mike for their first look at the Charles River Greenway, a favorite running spot for Morganne. Then, it was off to their home for the rest of the celebration with their twelve closest family members. There were unique hand sanitizer on-site, napkins that read "quarantined for life," and conversation about whose Covid-19 test experience was worse. We appreciate how cautious everyone was and how careful the day was.

After experiencing the magic of their intimate wedding day, Morganne and Mike decided they couldn't top the perfection and didn't need another big celebration. I can't blame them because these are my favorite photos.
