Sara and Ian are getting married next July at the Harborside Hotel in Bar Harbor, so we decided to meet up this past October at Ian's parent's coastal home in Hancock Point, Maine for their engagement photos. It was mid-October, so the foliage was at peak perfection. I was blown away when I pulled up to the property, sitting directly next to a perfect rocky Maine beach.
These two popped a bottle of prosecco (always helpful if you're feeling a bit nervous before photos), then we wandered across the beach and down a dirt road lined with incredibly colorful trees that lead to stunning cliffs and a dock that provided the quintessential Maine backdrop of fishing boats and row boats against a beautiful sunset. We even had an eagle land directly overhead! It was incredible.
From the dock, we could see Bar Harbor across the water, which was lovely to look at as we discussed all the planning they had done so far. I was excited to hear they'll be changing things up at the venue and having their reception in a tent. If you've ever been to a wedding at Harborside's Bar Harbor Club, you were probably inside the ballroom for the reception. This will be our first time seeing the space used in a completely different way!
I cannot wait to meet up with these two again in July. We'll also be reunited with one of our favorite wedding planners, Rachel Sisson of R.L. Sisson Events! Every event we've ever worked with Rachel on has been absolutely stunning and full of so much heart.
This was my last portrait session of the year, so I soaked it up as much as possible. The drive home was bittersweet.
Here are my favorites from Sara and Ian's Hancock Point engagement photos.
