Stephanie is one of my favorite people to photograph. So, when she moved to North Carolina last year I was happy for her, but sad that she was no longer going to be in the area. Well, a few months ago I received an email from Stephanie asking if it’d be possible to bring me to North Carolina for a few shoots. Uh, YES! We planned for a couple of weeks, and then it came time for me to fly down. I was more than excited to escape the snow and cold for a week!
While I was there, Steph took me to all the good fast food places (Sonic and Cook-Out, anyone?), where I experienced the best tater tots and banana fudge milkshakes EVER. We toured downtown Raleigh, Crabtree Valley (yes, I got my picture taken under a sign since it’s my last name), and she even took me to UNC Chapel Hill, where I had originally wanted to study back in high school. The campus was gorgeous!
Finally, on a deliciously wonderful 67 degree day, we drove to Wilmington to stay with her boyfriend’s parents. They put me up in a guest room, served me sweet tea, and cooked the most amazing dinners. Southern hospitality definitely exists, and I’m so thankful for their kindness. While there, Stephanie took me on a tour of One Tree Hill filming locations, where we felt like creepers, and laughed way too hard. It was definitely an amazing trip, and I can’t wait to go back with Joel!
