We aren’t really known for doing family photos. In fact, we only offer them to our past wedding clients because we’ve already built a relationship with them and it’s a nice chance to catch up (I can’t tell you how many conversations I’ve heard between Ross and Joel about the Boston Celtics). This is the second time we’ve photographed Ross and Kara’s portraits in Palermo, Maine. The first time was last year when Kara was still pregnant. This time, we got to meet their son!
I’ve actually lost track of how many times we’ve photographed Kara and Ross total. I went to high school with Kara (shoutout to Mattanawcook Academy!) and did portraits of her multiple times in my early days as a photographer, then we met Ross when they modeled for a styled wedding shoot we did that ended up being an incredibly long but fun day. That turned into us doing their engagement photos and wedding! We’ve pretty much traveled the entire state of Maine photographing these two! It’s been so cool watching them do life together. They’re some of our favorite clients of all time and we’ll gladly photograph their family any time if it means hanging out with them at their camp.
I have to also give them major props for getting up extra early to drive to their camp so that we could get these in before it got too bright and hot. The early morning light was so fun to play with! Also, those lilacs really make me miss spring and all of its beautiful blooms. I do not miss the mosquitos we had to deal with during these photos, though.
On to the photos! Enjoy!
