Our Favorite Wedding Photos of 2023

It's time to share our favorite wedding photos of 2023! This has always been my favorite blog post to create every year, as it's so satisfying to look back through all the images Joel and I created during the previous wedding season. The tricky part is narrowing it down to a suitable length!

2023 unfolded as the season of rain. Remarkably, more than half of our couples experienced rain on their wedding day. Our second-to-last wedding of the year coincided with Hurricane Lee, prompting an urgent shift indoors. Similarly, our final wedding faced stormy weather, leading to flooded roads and unexpected detours on our journey home – an adventure in itself! However, our resilient couples remained undeterred, finding beauty and intimacy in the rain, which added warmth and coziness to their celebrations.

Once again, we spent most of our time photographing in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We love the area so much, and we're always thrilled when our season allows us to spend lots of time there. After over a decade of photographing in Acadia, I'm still discovering new breathtaking locations. I'll never tire of it.

Here are all the weddings and elopements we photographed in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park:

We also returned to midcoast Maine for the first time in several years, which was quite exciting for us. Joel and I married in Camden, Maine back in 2012, so it's one of our favorite parts of Maine. It's so charming! Our midcoast Maine weddings brought us to Camden, Rockport, and Edgecomb. My fingers are crossed that we'll get to go back again soon. Here are our midcoast Maine weddings:

Two of my absolute favorite places in Maine are Stonington and Monson, each offering unique charms in entirely different directions. Stonington, a hidden coastal gem, has become my go-to retreat for summer weekends. It's truly underrated. When Kayla and Evan shared their vision for engagement photos, I didn't hesitate to recommend Stonington. I'm thrilled they fell in love with it as much as I have, and I'm eagerly anticipating capturing their wedding this year on Peaks Island!

Monson captured my heart during a birthday trip a few years ago. A visit to the Monson General Store and a hike up Borestone Mountain left me smitten. I remember putting out into the universe my desire to photograph a wedding there – and a few months later, Emily and Jake reached out!

We finally checked out Under Canvas Acadia in Surry with Lexie and Mike (see their wedding listed above), which offers glamping near the water. We also returned to Maine Lakeside Cabins in western Maine. Both locations are perfect if you're looking for a venue that offers on-site accommodations for your guests.

We're so excited to share these photos with you. In no particular order, here are our favorite wedding photos of 2023. Bring on the 2024 season!
