Morganne & Mike’s Portland Maine Engagement Photos

Next summer, Morganne and Mike are getting married at one of our favorite places, French's Point. We met up with them almost one year before their wedding to take engagement photos in Portland, Maine. I love being able to photograph our couples before the wedding day. It helps work out any nerves they might have about being in front of the camera, and it makes us even more excited about the wedding.

Morganne reached out after I photographed a wedding in Northport last October to see if we were available for her wedding. She had played volleyball with my former bride, and that's how she came across our work. How cool is that!?

This engagement session was one of the most perfect summer sessions I've ever photographed. We started at Oxbow Brewing before heading to Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse just as the sun began to go down. The weather was warm, and we had the most delightful coastal breeze to cool us down after being inside at the brewery. Sailboats were cruising around the lighthouse, and the sky was bright blue, leading into a perfectly golden summer sunset. Maine showed up for us! We even had music drifting over from a nearby wedding reception. It was fantastic!

I knew we would hit it off with Morganne and Mike after receiving their wedding inquiry; meeting in person proved it. We discussed the Maine beer scene and how much goes into planning a wedding (why doesn't anyone warn you about the small details?). We also discussed our current favorite reality shows ("Below Deck," anyone?) as well as some classics like "Parental Control" and "Room Raiders" (are we dating ourselves here?). You can tell a lot about a person based on reality TV preferences. These two are our kind of people.

I am so excited to see all their planning come to life next summer. In the meantime, here are some favorites from their engagement photos in Portland, Maine.
