Today I'm sharing some portraits of Emily. I've wanted to shoot here since we moved into our house. It's the first time I've had a yard in my adult life!
I knew I needed to do it fast when I heard that Hurricane Sandy was coming. I didn't want all the pretty fall colors to be swept away by the storm before I got the chance. Sadly, we lost a lot of foliage to some wind in the days leading up to these photos, but it left us with a pretty, more muted color palette that I love.
When I sat down to think about who I could convince to come to Orrington, Emily immediately came to mind. I had done a mini session of her family (can you believe she's a mom!?), and I had seen photos of her on Facebook rocking a new hairdo, so I contacted her. Emily was up for it and came from her home in Orono for the shoot (thanks, Emily!). We had to shoot during the bright early afternoon because of our schedules, but it worked out really well! The sun was out, and the air felt warm on our skin. It was nice to soak it up before winter.
Here are my favorites from my time with Emily.
