Louisa has spent many years coming to MDI with her family, so she knew an August wedding in Bar Harbor would be perfect for sharing the area with friends and family. After securing the Bar Harbor Club for the ceremony and reception, Louisa’s mom set out to find a spot that would offer us a stunning backdrop for portraits as well as some privacy. She found the perfect location at a rental home not too far away from the wedding venue. I was impressed!
While Joel hung out with the guys down in the pool house at the club, I was in the main building with Louisa, her mom, and her bridesmaids. The ’90s pop music set the mood as they sipped mimosas and had their hair and makeup done. Louisa entertained us all with a horse impression (puffing and rolling her lips) captured in slow-mo and sent out in a group text. They were a good time!
After heading to the nearby rental house for a first look and portraits on the cliffs, it was back to BHC for an emotional ceremony, a very lively cocktail hour, and a reception full of heartfelt yet hilarious toasts to the newlyweds.
It was so hard to pick images for this blog post because I love hundreds of photos of Louisa beaming (she has a fantastic smile and amazing eyes!) while Zach looks on, perfectly content. You’ll see what I mean below.
On to the photos!
