Otter Cliff Acadia Elopement | Linda & Tony

Being one of four people present at Linda and Tony's Otter Cliff Acadia elopement was an honor. For starters, the emails from Linda leading up to the day were hilarious, including photos of their greyhound (Sammy), book recommendations, jokes about it being the third marriage for both, and stories about Tony's hatred for jarred spaghetti sauce. It has to be homemade!

Then, when I arrived on the day, I found Tony waiting for me on the side of Park Loop Road with a handmade sign. They'd been nervous that we wouldn't be able to find each other in the busy park, so they devised a plan to make a sign. I had to jump out and grab a shot of it because it was adorable.

The always excellent Barbara Colby acted as their officiant and the only other witness to their nuptials. These two were so grateful for her presence, showering her with beam smiles and hugs during and after the ceremony.

Later, after they exchanged vows, Linda walked through the park shouting to people, "We just got married! I'm the oldest bride ever!" Her words were met with lots of cheers, and I couldn't stop smiling.

Finally, the way these two looked at each other was like two teenagers in love for the first time. It made me appreciate my job that much more.

If you've never had the pleasure of exploring Acadia National Park, it's worth the trip, even if you're not looking to elope. The backdrops range from mountains, ponds, ocean, rocky cliffs, pebble beaches, and sandy beaches. Plus, every location usually has a path winding through the woods. You can experience all the stunning sights of Maine in one place!
