There’s no better way to kick off a wedding weekend in Maine than with a lobster bake welcome party, and that’s exactly what Lily and MW chose to do at Aragosta in Deer Isle. If you’ve yet to experience Aragosta, it’s a must-visit. The food is incredible, and the setting is unreal.

Aragosta is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem. With its large deck overlooking the ocean, the private beach, and the tranquil, secluded vibe, it’s easy to see why Lily and MW chose it for their wedding weekend. From the moment you arrive, you can’t help but relax. And that peaceful energy was palpable during Lily and MW’s welcome party, where guests immediately settled into the laid-back, vacation-like atmosphere—despite many being there for the first time.

The evening kicked off at a dock in nearby Stonington, where I met up with Lily, MW, and Captain Walker from Good Tide Tours while guests gathered on Aragosta’s beach to sip cocktails and chat as they waited for the couple’s arrival. Little did they know that Lily and MW were making their entrance by boat! A huge thanks to Captain Walker, who gave us a fun, scenic tour while we waited for the perfect moment to arrive.

As the boat approached the beach, MW blew a marine whistle to gather everyone’s attention, and the crowd erupted in cheers as they realized who was on board. What followed was a lively evening full of hugs, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and games—everything you want in a welcome party. The sun slowly set over the ocean as guests gathered around the fire, roasting s’mores.
