Katie & Andrea’s Wedding in Portland Maine

Katie and Andrea's wedding in Portland, Maine was our last wedding of 2019. It was such a perfect end to our season! Sometimes, family and friends get a little nervous when we first come in with our cameras, but not this time. We were welcomed with open arms and immediately felt like part of the crew.

When they first reached out about their wedding, Katie and Andrea sent us a photo of their dogs. That's really the number one way into our hearts, so I crossed my fingers and toes, hoping that we'd get to hang out with them (Katie, Andrea, and the dogs) in person. Meeting them and spending such an important day with them just further cemented how lucky we are to have a job that brings such fantastic people into our lives.

Part of what I loved about this wedding was that it felt like both an elopement and a big wedding all at once. We started the day at the Francis Fawcett House, where we would return for a cozy cocktail hour after the ceremony. Next, after a short trolley ride, we crammed a small group of their nearest and dearest into the city clerk's office at Portland City Hall for a brief, but very sweet ceremony. They didn't want that part of the day to feel too planned, so we didn't even have an appointment. It was fantastic!

Back at the house during cocktail hour, more friends started to pile in. We took the party to Oxbow Blending & Bottling, which is such a cool reception space. It was laid-back with just a couple of speeches and a cake cutting, and the goal was for everyone to catch up over great beer, Duckfat fries, pizza, cake and some donuts from The Holy Donut. 100% reception goals right there.

Before we get to the photos, I need to give a shoutout to Katie and Andrea's fantastic wedding day outfits. The jumpsuit ... The dress ... Coordinating pastel coats and shoes ... Be still my heart!
