Greta & Mike’s Wedding on MDI

When Greta and Mike got engaged, a wedding on MDI was a no-brainer. Greta's family has owned a summer home in Northeast Harbor for five generations, and Mike's parents honeymooned in Bar Harbor, so it held special meaning for both families.

The way Greta and Mike met sounds like the beginning of a rom-com. They both attended a surprise party at a bar in Boston (shoutout to Lucky's) for a person neither of them knew. They spent the evening talking to each other, and Mike grabbed Greta's phone number before heading their separate ways. Clearly, things worked out!

We met them in Northeast Harbor for portraits at Greta's family home. The home was historic, with a giant porch overlooking the water. It was stunning! From there, we headed to the Northeast Harbor town dock for a few photos before jumping on Oli's Trolley for the trip to Bar Harbor Club.

We lucked out with the weather on their wedding day. Not only was the day rain-free (rare for the 2023 season!), but it was the perfect temperature. This year, it was the only wedding we photographed that wasn't rainy or highly humid.

After dinner, we slipped out for some portraits of Greta and Mike by the water at sunset. Guests were treated to music by the Silver Arrow Band (one of our favorites), and Greta's sister, Josephine, surprised everyone with her toast that included a performance from Hamilton. I saw more than one person tearing up from laughing so hard.

Here are some favorites from Greta and Mike's wedding on MDI!
