Alex and Aneesha's wedding at Granite Ridge Estate & Barn was a freaking blast! These two met on the school bus in high school. It's so rare to photograph high school sweethearts these days, and watching these two interact like they're still two teenagers in love was such a joy both during their Boston engagement session and at their Maine wedding. They're naturals in front of the camera, with Alex constantly getting Aneesha to throw her head back in laughter. You'll see lots of that below.
One of my favorite parts of the day was during Aneesha's father's speech at the reception. He told the story of how he was always the go-to guy for Aneesha when she needed help with math and science homework, but one day, after she had been dating Alex for a while, she told him he didn't have to help her anymore. When he explained that he enjoyed helping her, she said, "I know, but Alex is better at it than you." The story was met with lots of laughs, but he went on to explain that while it was a sad moment for him, it was also a great moment because he had always wanted Aneesha to find a man who was better than him.
This wedding had it all: a couple more in love than ever after almost a decade together, a warm family who welcomed us in and stayed in touch, an epic dance floor, chicken and waffles (YUM!), and a great team of vendors. A huge thanks goes out to Purple Orchid Weddings & Events for constantly checking in with us many times throughout the day and getting us anything we needed.
Alex and Aneesha, thank you for letting us be part of it.
Here are our favorites from the day!
