Erik lives next door, and Joel and I met him when we moved into our house five years ago when he was 12. When his parents reached out about photographing his senior portraits in Maine, my jaw dropped. Sure, he looked a little taller, but in my mind, he was maybe 14 or 15. Where did the time go?
I remember when we met Erik. He came over, introduced himself, and told us that he does yard work for a lot of families in our neighborhood. I was pretty impressed by how mature he was, and the fact that he had built a small business at such a young age. We hired him on the spot. I can’t believe he’s graduating this spring. We’ll miss having him around, but I only see amazing things happening for him in the future.
When Erik’s mom asked if I might know of a good spot locally, I immediately thought of Fields Pond Audubon in Hermon, Maine. It has wooded trails, a pond, a river, and a large field, so it’s the perfect spot to take senior portraits. Bonus? It’s only about a ten-minute drive from our houses!
Here are some favorites from his senior portraits in Maine. We’ll miss seeing him around the neighborhood, but we’re excited to see what he accomplishes in the future. Best of luck, Erik!
