We photographed Courtney and Nathan’s Wells, Maine wedding over Halloween weekend. It was one of the final warmer fall days we had last year, and the sun made for some magical portrait lighting (you’ll see what I mean below).
I met Courtney and Nathan three years earlier when we photographed her sister Alanna’s wedding. In fact, one of my absolute favorite images from the day was of Courtney placing Alanna’s garter. Their family is incredibly warm and welcoming, and when Courtney reached out to see if we were available to photograph her wedding too, I got all the warm and fuzzies. I was pretty excited to see everyone again and maybe grab a hug or two.
There were so many moments that I loved being part of, like chatting with Courtney’s mom on the trolley ride to the ceremony, a teary first look between Courtney and her dad (and Alanna too!), the attempts by many to crack Nate up (he’s normally quite serious), and Courtney’s dance with her dad. She had asked him if he could sing and dance with her at the same time, but he told her he didn’t think he could do both. Well, on the day, he surprised her with a version of their song that he had recorded. Courtney gasped and burst into tears. It was incredibly sweet!
Here are our favorites from the day!
