Morgan & Frano’s Coastal Maine Wedding in Northport

Morgan and Frano met when Morgan decided to leave Boston to study abroad in New Zealand, Frano's home country. After New Zealand, they lived together in Australia for five years before returning to Morgan's old stomping grounds. They then decided to add a new location to their map and planned a coastal Maine wedding in Northport at Point Lookout.

In April, Morgan and Frano came to the area to work on final wedding plans and asked if we might fit in a portrait session. We were excited to get to meet them before the wedding day! We met up in Belfast on a chilly spring day for coffee and portraits around downtown. These two are incredibly easy to talk with. Their accents don't hurt (yes, Morgan has picked up a tiny bit of one from her travels)! They also have super infectious smiles. You'll see below.

This wedding day takes the prize for being the hottest wedding we've ever photographed in nine years. Mother Nature was trying to make up for that chilly engagement session. If you recall, areas across New England hit 100+ degrees back in July. We were some of the lucky ones with it sticking closer to 95 degrees in Northport. Even with the extreme temperatures, I don't remember any complaining. We caught a break with some clouds and lovely breezes here and there, and I'm pretty sure there was a collective sigh of relief from everyone when they hit.

I have many favorite moments from this day, but I'll share a few. First, Morgan and Frano's choreographed first dance was incredible. There were lifts! There were dips! There were twirls! I was lucky enough to receive a video ahead of the day, so I had looked forward to seeing the live version for some time.

Another favorite moment was spotting their wedding cake by Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot. It was adorned with kiwi–a nod to New Zealand, and I was so excited when I discovered it. I'm all about little personal touches.

A third favorite moment was when Frano's accent was accidentally called Australian, and half the room (all from New Zealand) shouted out, "Kiwi!!!" A lot of laughter followed.

I could go on with my favorite moments, but let's get to the photos, shall we?
