I spent my birthday with Eliza and Aaron creating their engagement photos at Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. The days before had been rainy and cold, but magically, the sun came out the day of our session and we were blessed with almost 70-degree weather in late October. We were pretty happy about it and trying to soak it up before the temps dropped again in the days following.
Jenna and Matt’s York Maine wedding at the York Golf & Tennis Club was our first wedding in October, and I couldn’t contain how excited I was to be photographing such a stunning wedding in my favorite month. Fall tones are my favorite! If you don’t know already, Joel and I are huge fans of Salem, Massachusetts. We go multiple times throughout the year, and it really has become one of our happy places. We love Salem even more because it brought Jenna and Matt into our lives. During their search for a wedding photographer, Jenna saw a shoutout to our favorite cidery (Far From the Tree in Salem) on our site, and we instantly connected. We met up with Jenna at Notch Brewing to grab a beer while we were in Salem for our anniversary (Matt was away for his bachelor party), and Jenna recommended we swing by Goodnight Fatty for some of the best cookies ever. It’s a spot that you could miss if you didn’t know about it, and now we go every time we’re in Salem. It’s just one of the many reasons we love Matt and Jenna. Enough about cookies though!
Next summer, Morganne and Mike are getting married at one of our favorite places, French’s Point. We met up with them almost exactly one year before their wedding to take some engagement photos in Portland, Maine. I love being able to photograph our couples before the wedding day. It helps work out any nerves they might have about being in front of the camera, and it makes us even more excited for the wedding. Morganne reached out after I photographed a wedding in Northport last October to see if we were available for her wedding. She had played volleyball with my former bride, and that’s how she came across our work. How cool is that!?

Melissa and Lucky currently reside in Dallas, but she’s a Maine girl, having grown up in Cape Elizabeth. When I asked how they met, Melissa told me they met in the college dorms during freshman year when during a party, she insisted on checking Lucky’s driver’s license to prove that was his name.
