Tom and Lia met on the first day of college in 2010. It took Tom 3.5 years to gather the courage to ask Lia out. But it ended up being worth the wait because guess what… Now they’re married!

One of Tom and Lia’s favorite things is spending the weekends exploring Portland, Maine. They’re constantly trying out new restaurants, coffee spots, and breweries when they make the trip from Connecticut. Of course, finding a new breakfast spot is always a highlight.

If you’re interested in planning a brewery wedding in Portland, Maine, you may be surprised to see how many options are out there. Kara and Casey have been growing hops and homebrewing for years. Joel is also into homebrewing, so watching these three chat about all things beer was cool. They also had a dog named Barley, who served as ring bearer. So, it was only fitting that they’d have a brewery-based wedding. They chose one of our favorites, Oxbow Brewing, for several reasons. First, It’s a favorite of theirs. Second, the space is large and incredibly cool. Third, it’s just down the road from their home, where they’d be getting ready with friends, family, and their three hilarious pups.

A micro wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine wasn’t Kary and Mike’s original plan, but with Covid forcing them to get creative, they decided to put the big New Hampshire shindig on hold and have a smaller gathering with family. When we met up with them for their engagement photos in Ogunquit earlier this year, everything was still a bit up in the air, but they quickly came up with a fantastic plan—a ceremony at Goose Rocks Beach and an intimate dinner at Kary’s parent’s nearby home. Everyone got tested for Covid prior to the wedding day, which we so appreciated!

Katie and Andrea’s wedding in Portland, Maine was our last wedding of 2019. It was such a perfect end to our season! Sometimes, family and friends get a little nervous when we first come in with our cameras, but not this time. We were welcomed with open arms and immediately felt like part of the crew.
When they first reached out about their wedding, Katie and Andrea sent us a photo of their dogs. That’s really the number one way into our hearts, so I crossed my fingers and toes, hoping that we’d get to hang out with them (Katie, Andrea, and the dogs) in person. Meeting them and spending such an important day with them just further cemented how lucky we are to have a job that brings such fantastic people into our lives.

We photographed Courtney and Nathan’s Wells, Maine wedding over Halloween weekend. It was one of the final warmer fall days we had last year, and the sun made for some magical portrait lighting (you’ll see what I mean below).
I met Courtney and Nathan three years earlier when we photographed her sister Alanna’s wedding. In fact, one of my absolute favorite images from the day was of Courtney placing Alanna’s garter. Their family is incredibly warm and welcoming, and when Courtney reached out to see if we were available to photograph her wedding too, I got all the warm and fuzzies. I was pretty excited to see everyone again and maybe grab a hug or two.
