Bride and groom contra dancing at their Gouldsboro Maine wedding welcome party
Megan & Derek’s Gouldsboro Maine Wedding Welcome Party
Megan and Derek decided they wanted to kick off their Gouldsboro, Maine wedding weekend with a welcome party full of pizza, beer, pie, and contra dancing. Megan's aunt owns a campground in Gouldsboro and had built a new barn recently, so they knew it was the perfect place to have a seaside wedding full of nature while also offering a space for guests to slip out of the cold and dance. If you're looking for a unique way to welcome your wedding guests to Maine, I highly recommend looking into giving them a new experience, like contra dancing. While guests were hesitant to leave their tables at first, they were having a blast once they trickled out onto the floor and let loose. Also, I had no idea that contra dancing was so fast-paced! I was constantly running, ducking, and squatting to keep up

Chris and Tessa’s Sutton Island and Bar Harbor Maine Wedding
Chris and Tessa's Sutton Island and Bar Harbor, Maine wedding was a bit of an MDI adventure. We started the day in Northeast Harbor, waiting to meet Tessa's brother-in-law, Mike, who would be our escort. Then, we caught the mail boat that visits the Cranberry Isles. Sutton Island is the smallest of the Cranberry Isles, so we had to make a special request to the captain to include it in the day's stops. That's how tiny the island is! Tessa's family has a home there that's been in the family for generations. Everyone chooses a week on the calendar to spend there every year. Tessa's parents love the island so much that they bought another home within walking distance of the main house so that they could spend even more time there. It created the perfect setup for everyone to spread out as they got ready for the wedding.

Leah and Jamie’s Wedding at Oxbow Beer Garden in Oxford Maine
As I made the two-hour drive to Leah and Jamie's wedding at Oxbow Beer Garden in Oxford, Maine, I kept an eye on the rising temperature because the sun was out in full force. They had planned an outdoor wedding at noon for the Friday before Labor Day, and it was going to be a hot one. Luckily, when I arrived in Oxford, a slight breeze in the air made the temperature feel much more pleasant. Pair that with Oxbow's delicious ice-cold beer served under a brand-new shady pergola, and it was the perfect way for them to enjoy a beautiful afternoon with their guests.
