Joel and I were big fans of Aragosta’s Stonington location, so I wasn’t sure it could get much better than that. However, after visiting their new home at Goose Cove for brunch, I fell in love. I quickly put it into the universe that I wanted to photograph an Aragosta wedding in Deer Isle, Maine. Abby and Halavah were sent our way for their October wedding approximately three months later. We got to make the dream come to life! I love an intimate coastal Maine wedding. Cozy weddings with twenty or so guests are my jam. Aragosta is magic with its delicious food, clear greenhouse for private dining, and the stunning backdrop of its rocky beach.
Abby and Halavah wanted their day to be chill and full of fantastic food, so Aragosta was a bit of a no-brainer. Abby had grown up with Aragosta’s chef, Devin Finigan, so picking a location was a piece of cake. Abby and Halavah got ready in the seaside cabins on site, trying to time things perfectly with their daughter’s nap. While naptime wasn’t a complete success, their wedding outfits were. Abby rocked a vintage wedding dress and shoes she had found in a shop in New York paired with earrings and a hairpiece from her jewelry line, while Halavah wore a brown velvet suit.
After a heartfelt ceremony on the beach (complete with some beautiful leis Halavah had procured in the NYC flower district by getting up around 4:00 am), we spent some time soaking in the gorgeous October sunset before everyone gathered in the greenhouse to taste Devin’s delightful offerings.
Abby and Halavah’s wedding was our last of the 2021 season, and it was such a perfect finale. Here are our favorites from the day!
