I went to high school with Kara, and she has modeled for me in the past. In fact, I convinced her and Ross to model for a styled wedding a few years ago. I was thrilled when they got engaged in real life and asked us to be their photographers.

They chose to marry in Millinocket, Maine, not too far from Mount Katahdin. They also happened to pick a weekend during peak foliage in northern Maine.

I still can’t get over how much fun this day was. We rode down bumpy logging roads to all the stunning locations they had picked out for portraits, and I even got to ride in a seaplane for the first time in my life! Seeing the foliage (and a moose!) from up above was an amazing experience. Thank you, Kara and Ross!

Here are some favorites from the day. Keep an eye out for their cake, which was my favorite of the year! Half of the cake is inspired by Mount Katahdin and the other half is inspired by Cadillac Mountain, where they got engaged.
