The idea for my Prince Edward Island bridal shoot came from the idea that Joel and I initially considered eloping there. My dad brought me to PEI when I was thirteen for a summer vacation. He went as a kid with his parents and wanted to pass on his love of the island to us. I fell in love. The island is such a beautiful place, and I regularly miss it when I'm back home in the real world.
Since we decided to skip the elopement and have a big wedding with friends and family, we chose Prince Edward Island for our honeymoon. I knew I wanted to bring my wedding dress. I gave Joel my sweetest smile and asked if we could spend an afternoon of our trip taking photos, and he agreed to photograph me frolicking around the island. A few people stopped us and asked what we were doing, and one woman even cried, "you'll ruin your dress!" It was so worth it, though, and while I did stain the bottom of my dress red from the PEI dirt, it was worth it. I'll never wear the dress again, but I will have these photos to look back at forever.
