Kim & Amy’s Acadia National Park Proposal at Beech Mountain

Kim contacted me about photographing her Acadia National Park proposal at Beech Mountain a few months before heading to Maine with her girlfriend, Amy. She planned on proposing mid-hike and wanted photos to document the moment.

A lot of planning goes into photographing a proposal. After many emails discussing location, timing, what color cars we would drive, what we'd be wearing, and my purple hair that helped me stand out, the day finally arrived. Yay! Then, it rained. So, we pushed it back and hoped it wouldn't rain the next day since their time in Maine was limited.

The next day, the rain cleared, and it was time. I was SO excited. I followed them from a distance up Beech Mountain, pretending to photograph the colorful foliage every time they stopped and looked around.
Finally, the moment came! After Kim got down on one knee and popped the question, Amy started laughing and pulled out another ring. She had planned to propose as well! What are the chances!? Neither had any idea that the other intended to propose. It was amazing to witness, and it's by far one of my favorite things I've ever photographed.
