It’s often hard to express excitement through email. Sure, you can use an abundance of exclamation points and emojis, but that is often overkill. Caitlin managed to do it through each and every email without doing this. If emails could glow, hers were always glowing.

Caitlin’s family lives in Maine, so when she contacted us about meeting up while they were passing through Bangor before the wedding, we jumped at the chance. I wanted to meet these two in person! We met up on a Sunday morning for some Bloody Marys, and John had us laughing so hard we were crying in about five minutes. His sense of humor is sneaky. My favorite kind! My stomach hurt so bad from laughing that I found myself wondering how Cait survives on a daily basis. I realized later that it’s because she’s also incredibly funny (she told us the hilariously terrifying story of meeting Stephen King as a child–it involves his shadow looming over her) and has the best reaction to John’s humor. I’m talking bent over and laughing with her entire body. You’ll see evidence of that below. It seriously made my heart so happy every time I saw it.

I’m so grateful that these two came into our lives, if only for a short while.
