The forecast for Dani and Gibson's Maine wedding at the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor wasn't promising. In fact, at one point I'm pretty sure I read that there would be downpours, thunder, and lightning all day. Dani and Gibson saw this too. While I crossed my fingers and toes that the forecast would change, Dani and Gibson decided to borrow an old Southern wedding tradition and bury a bottle of bourbon nearby at Gibson's parent's home. For extra luck, there were a few prayers said and maybe even a dance to keep the rain away because, why not?
Well, I'm happy to say that when Joel and I arrived on their wedding day there were only blue skies in sight for miles. The sun was out in full force, and it was probably the hottest day of the season so far. I think it's safe to say that the bourbon thing really works!
Dani and Gibson decided to marry in Northeast Harbor because it's where Gibson had grown up. It played an important role in their relationship (they had their first kiss on his parent's terrace!), so it just felt right. The stunning Asticou Inn was the perfect venue for such a wonderful day. Thank you for having us, Dani and Gibson!
